IN OCTOBER 2017, THE VOLUME OF CONSTRUCTION WORKS1 DECREASED BY 1.3% COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS MONTH

Compared to the previous month, in October 2017, the volume of construction works increased, as gross series, by 6.2% and decreased, as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, by 1.3%.

Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the volume of construction works fell both as gross series and as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, by 13.4% and by 10.3%, respectively.

Compared to the period 1.I-31.X.2016, in the period 1.I-31.X.2017, the volume of construction works decreased both as gross series and as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, by 7.5% and by 8.4%, respectively.
The volume of construction works decreased 7.5% January through October 2017, compared with the same period last year, mainly due to the repairs and maintenance services sector (-23.1%) and capital repairs sector (-22.7%), according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Thursday.
The the opposite end, new construction works increased 1.6%.
By construction objects, engineering constructions declined 25.1% and non-residential buildings 14.5%. Residential buildings increased 74.9%.
Overall, the volume of construction works decreased by 8.4%, as series adjusted depending to the number of business days and seasonality. By structural elements, decreases were recorded in the capital repairs and maintenance and repairs services sectors by 21.8% each. New construction works increased 2.0%.
By construction objects, the engineering constructions dropped 25.7% and non-residential buildings went down 13.8%. Residential buildings as construction works volume went up 69.9%.
In October 2017, compared with October 2016, the volume of construction works dropped 13.4% as gross series. By structural elements there were recorded decreases in the capital repairs sector, by 38.9%, and maintenance and repairs services sector, by 31.5%. New construction works rose by 2.9%.
By construction objects, non-residential buildings went down 26.8% and engineering constructions went down 19.7%. Increases were recorded in the residential buildings sector, by 29.2%.
The overall volume of construction works decreased 10.3%, as adjusted series depending on the number of business days and seasonality. By structural elements decreases were recorded in the capital repairs sector, by 40.5% and in maintenance and repairs services sector, by 30.8%. New construction works increased 3.3%. By construction objects, non-residential buildings fell 27.1% and engineering constructions dropped 22.4%. Increases were recorded in the residential buildings sector, by 29.8%.
Overall volume of construction works grew 6.2% , as series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, in October 2017 compared with the previous month, an increase registered for all structural elements - maintenance and repair works sector, by 19.3%, capital repairs sector, by 18, 2% and new construction works, by 0.6%.
By constructions object, residential buildings and engineering constructions increased 10.8% each. Non-residential buildings declined 5.9%.
The overall volume of construction works decreased 1.3%, as series adjusted depending on the number of business days and seasonality, which was also seen in capital repairs showing a decrease of 2.5%. Maintenace and repairs services sector and new construction works increased 5.6% and 0.9% respectively.
By construction objects, the volume of construction works decreased 3.7% in the non-residential buildings sector. Residential buildings and engineering constructions increased 0.7% each.
