Over 84% of Romanians associate end of year celebrations with fir trees and lights, while 78% listen to music specific of this period, according to a specialised study.
The opinion poll shows that 72% of Romanians choose to spend their free time with the loved ones during winter celebrations, 15% make plans for celebrations and winter activities and 13% of respondents prefer to rest, according to data of the stidy made by ELBI Electric & Lighting company. Romanians in the Bucovina area are most attached to end of year celebrations, most of them saying that the most important is to spend time with the loved ones (93%), customs (85%) and light installations (78%).
In the top of preferences according to age, people over 65 prefer to stay with the loved ones (93%), to listen to specific music (100%) and fir trees (94%). In exchange, young people aged between 25 and 34, prefer activities like tree trimming (94%), light installations (85%) and time spent with loved ones (72%).
People who live in the city associate end of year celebrations with fir trees (93%) and time spent with the loved ones (73%), while those from the rural area prefer fir trees and light installations in the same proportion (89%).
There is a difference between men and women when we speak about preferences specific of this period. Women prefer fir trees (92%) and music (79%), while men prefer light installations and fir trees (89%).
The study was made over September 18- October 19, 2017 on a sample of 670 people, aged between 18 and 65, from all country regions.
