MAE: Combatting terrorism and the management of the migration phenomenon to Europe, among the topics approached in Islamabad
The global efforts of combatting terrorism and the management of the migration phenomenon to Europe are among the topics approached in Islamabad, by the State Secretary for global affairs, Daniela Gitman at talks with the Pakistani officials.
According to a press release by the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) sent on Thursday, Daniela Gitman has paid on Wednesday and Thursday a visit to Islamabad, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, where she was received by Sartaj Aziz, the counsellor for Foreign Affairs and National Security of the Prime Minister of the Pakistani Government (the head of the Pakistani diplomacy) and had a round of political consultations with the additional secretary for Europe within the Pakistani MAE, Rafiquzzaman Siddiqui.
"The parties have reviewed the main aspects of the bilateral agenda in the political, economic, cultural and consular fields, the cooperation within the UNO included. Analyzed were the current stage and the development opportunities of the trade and economic cooperation, with focus on the identification of some concrete projects capable to stimulate the mutual interest of the business communities in the two countries and match the economic potential of Romania and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan," the said release reads.
The visit also included meetings with the honorary consuls of Romania to Karachi, Faisalabad and Lahore, and with the leadership of the Pakistan-Romania friendship Association, respectively, with which were approached practical ways of stimulation of bilateral trade and swaps in education and culture.
