MAE: meeting of the group of ambassadors of Asian countries accredited to Romania

Romania is interested in reviving its presence in the Asian region and developing some new economic partnerships with the states in the same area, adapted to the global and regional developments, Secretary of State for Global Affairs with the Foreign Ministry (MAE) showed on Monday. 

According to a MAE release, Gitman participated on May 30 in the meeting of the group of ambassadors of Asian countries accredited to Romania. 

"In response to the interest of the attending ambassadors, Secretary of State Daniela Gitman presented the main economic diplomacy objectives and initiatives of the Romanian authorities in relations with Asian countries. The MAE official underscored that, in the light of the traditional connections with the Asian states, based on mutual confidence, Romania is interested in reviving its presence in the region and developing new economic partnerships with them, adapted to the global and regional developments," MAE adds. 

During the meeting, Gitman voiced Romania's special interest in a cultural and educational cooperation with the countries in Asia. 

The Foreign Ministry official added that Romania encourages the establishment of inter-university projects, student and teaching staff mobility, as well as the Asian students' attending Romanian education institutions, including through the scholarship programme the Romanian state provides to foreign citizens through the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
