Marginimea Sibiului included on list of best European destinations for digital detox

Marginimea Sibiului was included on the list of the best European destinations for digital detox, in the top made by europeanbestdestinations.com, according to an announcement made on the social page of European Gastronomic Area Sibiu.

The website devoted to the best destinations in Europe recommends Marginimea Sibiului as the perfect destination for digital detox in the bosom of nature. The region is so fascinating that it seems unreal. Travellers from around the world are amazed by the wonders of these 18 Romanian localities from the south-west of Sibiu county.

Marginimea Sibiului is one of the most popular destinations in Romania for the pensions in the area, landscape and the famous Sibiu cheese. Localities in this area with compact Romanian population stretch on an axis with north-west, south-east orientation with altitudes between 400 and 850 m, except for Poiana Sibiului of 880m and Jina of 1,000m.

Tourism County Association recommends tourists to visit the “Cheese Road” of Marginimea Sibiului : Boita-Talmacel- Talmaciu- Cisnadie- Sadu- Rau Sadului - Patinis - Rasinari - Gura Raului - Poplaca- Sibiu- Orlat- Sibiel- Fantanele - Saliste- Galea- Rod- Tilisca - Poiana Sibiului- Jina- Transalpina. Areas like Sadu and Rau Sadului are sought by tourists because they have poor cell phone signal and Internet and they can enjoy the beauties of area and the mountains.

Marginimea Sibiului received the distinction “Excellent European Destination for Tourism and Gastronomy”in 2015.
