Min. Vosganian presents some projects of national interest at Annual Investment Meeting in Dubai

Minister of Economy Varujan Vosganian, attended on Tuesday the 'Annual Investment Meeting - AIM 2013' in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where he presented some projects of national interest in energy, road, naval and maritime infrastructure, in the mining and IT fields.

'The presence of Minister Vosganian at this event is an important step in expanding the dialogue with government representatives and big regional investors in the Gulf zone, focusing on promoting Romania's economic and commercial interests, identifying sources of funding and presentation of proposals for business development in the Romanian entrepreneurial environment. The inter-governmental dialogue with the UAE top officials, representatives of member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as those of the major investment funds in the area - Al Rajhi - Saudi Arabia, Investment Corporation of Dubai, DP World (UAE), TAQA (UAE), Mubadala (UAE) and Qatar Investment Fund, was based on a common interest in devising a new platform for the bilateral and multilateral economic relations, adapted to evolutions at global and regional levels, for the identification of new opportunities to exploit a huge potential existent in the economic sector, an aspect appreciated as feasible by the interlocutors', the Ministry of Economy informs in a press release.

Development of relations with the Gulf states will include an extensive program of promotional actions, through participation in international exhibitions, visits of GCC businessmen delegations to Romania, within some economic missions or participation in exhibitions organized in Romania. The bilateral economic cooperation with companies in GCC countries will be a priority target that will cover construction projects, both civil and industrial, technology transfer, co-partnership to design and build the railway network and to supply the rolling stock (in the framework of the project of construction of the railway network that will interconnect the GCC member states), delivery of wagons, construction and supply of maritime ships, aircraft repairs, implementation of projects using nuclear power and unconventional energy, ME further informs.

In discussions with the Minister of Energy of the UAE, the Romanian side addressed common themes relating to bilateral cooperation in areas of major interest in the energy, mining, IT sectors, road and water infrastructure.
