Minister Costea: 70% labour force occupation in 2020

The lowest salary will grow to 1250 lei as of July 1, and debates with social partners have been efficient, said the minister of labour Claudia Costea declared at the HR Conference 2016.

“The measure was meant to increase the standard of living of the populace with impact in the budget sector, because in the private sector salaries at over the lowest salary level,” the minister said.

At the end of quarter three 2015, the occupation rate of the populace was 67.8% at a distance of 2.2% to the established target, according to statistics.

“By means of the national labour force occupation strategy, we assumed to reach an occupation rate of 70% by 2020”, the minister added.

Romania is a country not very interesting for the labour force and people are not willing to get hired, said Florin Godean, Adecco country manager, the largest labour force recruiting company, at HR Trends 2016, organized by ZF.

“The human resource demand is higher than the offer. I went to villages in Vaslui with 400 socially assisted people and no one wanted to get hired, although benefits were high. Those people did not want to work,” Florin Godean said.

Adecco concluded businesses of 70 million euros in Romania in 2015. The company opened two offices in Constant and Targu Mures.

“Over 2011-2013, Romania lost about 2 million people of the active populace, who lest to work abroad. At Romania’s level we speak about local mobility,” he said.
