Minister Pislaru:the major issue in Romania is the lack of homogeneity as regards the work places
The major issue in Romania is the lack of homogeneity as regards the work places, namely there are parts where unemployment is 4% and others where there are employees, stated on Friday the minister of work Dragos Pislaru in a press conference.
‘There are parts of the country where there are employees to find, not because the conditions are not good but because there are no people left to be employed and there are parts which are dependent on investors and there are some which have very good options. I can give you as an example Valea Jiului where there are big difficulties, where layoffs from the mining sector continues, areas such as Teleorman, Giurgiu,Alexandria and we have very important areas in Moldova,Vaslui,Botosani which practically have few opportunities for employment’ Pislaru said.
He said that in those areas with difficulties of employment there is a balance between the option of working in the household and working 8 hours at a company.
He said that in Romania there are segments with some of the biggest productivitiy in the world, and on the other hand, there are situations where no sanitary conditions are met.
‘Romania has many situations which are paradoxical. We are a country where the investments in the technological domain have some of the biggest productivity for foreign investors in the world. I give you as an example the Daimler gear boxes factory which now extended and produces the most performant gear box for Mercedes in the whole world. At the same time, there are many places in this country where performance is not at a high level, situations where we are at the extreme negative, where not even the sanitary conditions are met’ Pislaru said.
The minister of work Dragos Pislaru took part on Friday in Eurosfat 2016, the fourth edition of the European debate forum in Romania.
The event was organised under the patronage of the European Parliament, the European Commission Office to Romania and the Dutch chairman of the European Union Council.
