National Day of Romania, marked abroad by concerts, exhibitions and shows

One concert from Enescu's music in Paris, one exhibition of documents and images related to the Great Union in New York, as well as the 'Human Voice' show by Jean Cocteau starring Oana Pellea in Ireland are only few of the events to be organised with the support of Romania's diplomatic mission on the occasion of the National Day.

Thus, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Paris and the Romanian Embassy from France on December 4 will organise, at 8 p.m., a concert with the chamber music of the great Romanian composer George Enescu.

The legendary figure of poet Anna de Noailles will be evoked on December 8 in the concert entitled 'Les eblouissements d'Anna', to be hosted by the Byzantine Hall of the Palace de Behague.

The Romanian Embassy and ICR Berlin will organise on December 10 at the Berlin Philharmonic a classic music concert starring the Berliner Symphoniker Orchestra and soloists Ruxandra Donose (mezzo-soprano), Frans Helmerson (violoncello), Mihaela Martin (violin) and Cristian Niculescu (piano).

In Chisinau, the Romania Cultural Institute 'Mihai Eminescu' l organised on November 28 a classic music concert starring the National Chamber Orchestra.

The jazz soloist Teodora Enache performed in Hague, on November 28.

ICR New York organised two concerts starring the Marius Mihalache and Irina Sarbu Band: the first one to take place at the Kennedy Center, on November 30, and the second one to take place at Drom, in New York, on December 1. At the headquarters of the ICR New York there will be also varnished an exhibition of documents and images related to the Great Union and the signification of the National Day of Romania, to include portraits of the great personalities who participated in the building of the Romanian unitary state, images of institutions and emblematic symbols related to this Day.

One of the concerts from the Enescu series devoted to the National Day will take place on December 5 in London, with soprano Antia Hartig from the Vienna Opera as a guest. The recital will take place in the Great Hall of the ICR and it will be followed by a reception.

On November 28, in Rome, there took place the guitar recital of Maxim Belciug - 'Il Canto degli Uccelli', to include a repertoire of classic music works belonging to great Romanian, Italian and Spaniard composers. The event was hosted by the concert hall of the Aldrovandi Hotel - Villa Borghese in Rome.
