NATO allies are solidary with Romania following incident close to Ukraine border
On Wednesday, NATO allies expressed their “strong solidarity”with Romania when they were infirmed about an incident with parts of a Russian drone fell on Romanian land, according to Reuters and EFE. NATO pointed out in a press release quoted by Reuters that they continue to closely monitor the situation and are in close contact with the Romanian ally.
President Klaus Iohannis declared on Wednesday that NATO allies had been informed about the descovery of parts which very likely belong to a drone. He showed that Romania's ambassador to NATO, Dan Neculaescu, was instructed to inform NATO general secretarty and the allies about the possible incident, and that was done on Wednesday morning at the North Atlantic Council.
Dylan White, NATO ad interim spokesman, declared that Romania had informed about the incident at the North Atlantic Council meeting, and the allies expressed their strong solidarity with Romania. Dylan referred to the discovery of wastes, possibly from a drone, on Romanian territory, close to the Ukrainian border, EFE informed.
According to Contantin Spinu, the spokesman for the Defense Ministry MApN teams discovered elements which might be rests from a drone, but an investigation will be made to find the source of the drones. The spokesman pointed out that no connection can be made between those wastes and the previous attacks on Ukrainian targets at Romania's border.
