New secretaries of state in Foreign Ministry and Ministry for Public Consultation
Premier Dacian Ciolos appointed Petre Guran and Adrian Badila secretaries of state in the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry for Public Consultation and Civic Dialogue, according to decisions published on Thursday in the Official Monitor.
Petre Guran, 44, takes over the position of secretary of state in the Foreign Ministry as of January 28. He is at present scientific researcher at the Institute of South-East European Studies of the Romanian Academy. He has a PhD degree in history obtained at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris and was a member of the Hellenic Studies Center at Princeton University, USA.
He won a scholarship at New Europe College, was former coordinator of the Romanian session of the program “Monasteries and European Identity. First College of European Citizenship” under the aegis of the Council of Europe, junior member of the World Academy of Art and Sciences and one of the initiators and first director of the Institute of Liberal Studies. Over 1995-1996 he graduated from the Faculty of History of Bucharest University and between 1991-1995 he attended the Faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences.
Adrian Badila, 59, will be secretary of state in the Ministry for Public Consultation and Civic Dialogue, as of January 28, according to a decision published on Thursday in the Official Monitor. Badila has a long experience in public administration, being assistant prefect of Bucharest (2005), secretary of state, general manager of the National Institute of Administration (2005-2006), councillor at the General Council of Bucharest (2000-2002), deputy mayor of sector 6, Bucharest (1996-2000) and councillor at sector 6 Local Council, Bucharest (1992-2000). He is a graduate of the Polytechnic University, Bucharest.
