Oradea, third town in Tech Generation digital project
Oradea is the third town elected to participate in Tech Generation project made by Digital Nation community, after Alba Iulia and Piatra Neamt, a project made with an investment of half a million dollars offered by Google.org.
Oradea people aged between 15 and 24, who want a digital career are invited to apply on Digital Nation website. They can choose from two specializations available in this first year: IT Literacy, where the bases of digital administration and all aspects needed for a digital office job, or Learn to Code, where they learn bases of programming and how to code web and mobile basic applications. Each specialization lasts 12 months and graduates interested are helped by Digital Nation team to find local digital jobs.
According to the source, specializations are offered to participants free of charge and the program has in view the development of digital competences of over 300 young Romanians for the first year.
Ilie Bolojan, the mayor of Oradea, says this program will integrate in the local strategy “Make it in Oradea”, aimed at offering a real chance to young people to remain or return to Oradea. Those who want to participate in one of the two courses can do it on the community site until this Fall.
