PM Ciolacu, working visit to Berlin, Tuesday and Wednesday, talks with German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz

 

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will pay a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany on Tuesday and Wednesday, during which he will meet with Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, have a meeting with Katrin Goring-Eckardt, the vice-president of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, and participate in meetings with representatives of the business environment and the defence industry, the Government informs in a press release.

The agenda of the visit includes meetings between Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu and Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, both one-on-one and in the plenary of the delegations, followed by a joint press conference.

Also on the first day of the visit, the Prime Minister will meet with representatives of the Romanian community in the Federal Republic of Germany and will lay a wreath at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.

On Wednesday, on the second day of the working visit, the head of the Executive will have a meeting with Katrin Goring-Eckardt, the Vice President of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, and with representatives of the German Parliament from the main political groups.

Also, the visit will have an important economic component. The prime minister will participate in meetings with representatives of the business environment and the defense industry.

"The cooperation between Romania and Germany has a significant potential, which I am convinced we can exploit even more to our mutual benefit. Germany is Romania's most important trading partner, which is a solid basis for intensifying our bilateral relations and offers real prospects for development that we want to realize as soon as possible," said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, quoted in the press release.

The official delegation led by Prime Minister Ciolacu will include the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminita Odobescu, the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Radu Oprea, the Minister of Defense, Angel Tilvar, the deputy Ovidiu Gant, member of the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities, Victor Negrescu, MEP and honorary adviser to the Prime Minister, representatives of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
