PM Dacian Ciolos starts two-day visit to Paris

Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos will pay a visit to Paris on Thursday and on Friday; he will participate in a meeting dedicated to Romania, chaired by OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, within a meeting of the Council of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

"The participation in this meeting is part of Romania's stage objective set by the Government in February this year on creating the favourable premises for considering the candidacy of our country in the future exercise of OECD enlargement," reads a Government release.

"On a bilateral level, the visit marks the interests of the Romanian and French sides for an in-depth dialogue and for moving the bilateral strategic Partnership to a new stage of development, reflected in the new Roadmap, which will be signed by Prime Ministers Dacian Ciolos and Manuel Valls on 10 June," the release reads.

According to this source, the signing ceremony will take place after a meeting between the two high officials, in which they will discuss topics on the bilateral, European and international agenda.

The prime minister will also meet with President Francois Hollande; on Friday, they will attend together the opening match of the European Football Championship, Romania v France.

On the sidelines of the visit, Ciolos will meet with students, professors and the managing staff of Ecole Polytechnique and the France's Academy for Agriculture. He will also have a meeting at the Embassy of Romania with the two orphan children of the Romanian couple killed in the Paris attacks of 13 November 2015, who will be accompanied by their legal custodians.
