PM Dancila: government reshuffle will be decided on Monday
Premier Viorica Dancila said on Saturday in Calarasi that the activity assessment for eight ministers has been completed and that the government reshuffle will be decided on Monday, at the meeting of the Social Democratic Party's ( ruling party) National Executive Committee (NEC).
"We worked on the assessment of the ministers' activity this week. It isn't finished yet. On Monday, in the National Executive Committee, we will talk about a reshuffle. We did the assessment of eight ministries. After I present it to the NEC we will decide together how we'll reshuffle the deck, of course, at the Prime Minister's proposal," Dancila said, without mentioning who would be in the crosshairs, but just that the decision will be political.
"I will continue the evaluation, I cannot tell you now a number of ministries, maybe my colleagues will say there is no need for change at certain ministries, I'll make the proposals, but the decision will be political," the PM said.
Social Democratic Party Chair Viorica Dancila met on Saturday in Calarasi with members of the party's county organization.
Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE, minor at rule) president, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu ,announced that the Central Political Bureau of his party will discuss on Monday the proposal to replace Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu from office due to the public perception created regarding his activity.
"I have informally talked with several leadership colleagues and tomorrow we will have a meeting of the Political Bureau, in which we will propose the removal from office of the Foreign Affairs minister. I think the public perception that was created on Foreign Minister affects his very own work capacity," Tariceanu told on Sunday private TV broadcaster Antena 3.
The ALDE leader added that he talked with Teodor Melescanu, whom he appreciates, about the possibility of his replacement.
