RePatriot project : Exodus of Romanians after 10 years: 3.4 million people
Migration is one of the most serious problems confronting Romania now, besides the lack of infrastructure. However, there is opportunity in every problem: the Romanians’ return may bring civic assets that could change mentalities, said Felix Patrascanu, the founder of Fan Courier, at the presentation of RePatriot project, initiated by Romanian Business Leaders foundation (RBL).
“The problem is not just the fact that a part of Romanians left, the problem is that people are leaving all the time and the return rate is very low, while statistics and prognoses look rather bad. This matter is somehow ignores and so is opportunity. These millions of Romanians are a treasure. If we evaluate the accumulated experience, it could be Romania’s most important asset. Labour force crisis is more serious than the economic one, an economic crisis disappears in a few years, but Romania’s depopulation is very serious as people find it difficult to come back,” said Marius Bostan, the initiator of RePatriot.
RePatriot is a program initiated by Romanian Business Leaders foundation which encourages the Romanians’ return home, for the practice of entrepreneurship. RePatriot offers consulting about the capital needed for business, opportunities in Romania, the possibility to access grants or payable funds, as well as experience shared by RBL partners from Romania.
