Romania participates at the SALAMIS STORM - 2018 Exercise hosted by Greece
Defence Minister Mihai Fifor met with his counterparts in Greece and Serbia on Wednesday to discuss security issues in the Western Balkans and regional cooperation opportunities, focusing on the development of multinational military capabilities, including within the initiatives launched at the level of the European Union, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of National Defence (MApN).
According to the quoted source, the defence ministers from the three states have agreed on the need for deep co-operation in this regional format, given the current risks and threats and common priorities at regional level.
"The Romanian Minister of National Defence has appreciated that this format of cooperation provides a good opportunity to strengthen the political-military dialogue and to identify the modalities of cooperation between the armies of the participating states, building on the experience gained at the level of the Special Operations Forces," the release points out.
The meeting between Fifor and the defence ministers of Greece and Serbia took place in Nea Peramos Attica, Greece, on the occasion of the Day of Distinguished Visitors of the SALAMIS STORM - 2018 Exercise.
