Small interest rates on the banking market lower the leu to 3.13270 leieuro
The national currency went down by 0.24% to 3.1370 leieuro, after the local banks and foreign investors bought foreign currency, in the context where inter-banking interest rates for deposits in lei dropped under the level of central bank interest rate, dealers inform. The rate presented on Thursday by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) of 3.1370 leieuro shows a depreciation of the national currency by 76 ROL ( 0.24%) as compared to the euro, from 3.1294 leieuro as it was on Wednesday. Euro was considered at 3.1270 – 3.1300 lei at the opening of the session on Thursday, and after a few buying orders for foreign currency the leu dropped to 3.1250 lei and later on down to 3.1380 – 3.1390 leieuro.
