Survey: In case of elections in the Republic of Moldova, three parties would get into the parliament – the socialists, first in preferences
The party of socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) would get half of the total number of votes in case of early elections and only two other political formations – the party Action and solidarity (PAS) and the Democrat party(PDM) would accede to the parliament, according to a survey given to publicity on Monday by the Fund of Public Opinion (FOM) informs Radio Kishinev.
The survey shows that the citizens are divided as regards the geopolitical vector, the discontent against the governing is high, and president Igor Dodon enjoys the highest trust on the part of the population.
According to the survey, PSRM would get 50% of the number of interviewees who expressed a voting option, being followed by PAS with 26% and PDM with 6% and other formatins would not get over the threshold.
These data refer to elections on party lists, not to the vote for the candidates from uninominal constituencies. Igor Dodon, former leader of PSRM and the PAS chairman Maia Sandu lead the top of trust in political personalities.
The research shows that over half of the number of the interviewees support the actions and the decisions of Igor Dodon while the trust in the parliament and the government is lower: only 19% appreciate positively the activity of the executive and 15% that of the legislative.
Over80% of the interviewees stated their discontent for the present situation of things in the Republic of Moldova, 70% would have early elections, and two thirds – the amendment of the constitution. Half of the citizens would opt for the increase of the attributions of the president, according to the survey.
Most citizens want good relations with Russia, and the number of those who would opt in favour of the EuroAsia Union is higher than those who opt for European integration.Similarly, the survey shows that only a fifth of the population would vote for the union with Romania or accession to NATO.
The survey was made between 22-29 October on a sample of 4517 interviewees, the error margin being +/- 1.5%. The survey was commissioned by Timpul newspaper.
