Teodor Melescanu: statements on union between Romania and the Republic of Moldova , an expression of a desire without judicial value
The minister of foreign affairs,Teodor Melescanu stated on Saturday in Ploiesti that the statements for the union between Romania and the Republic of Moldova adopted by several localities in the two countries are ‘ the expression of a desire’ but they do not have a judicial value.
‘From my point of view, the statements regarding the union which several municipalities or leaderships of communes adopted are the expression of a desire to be closer to Romania. They have no judicial value, they are the expression of a desire we understand and which we respect (…). They have no judicial value and they do not affect our relations with the Republic of Moldova’ Melescanu said.
The minister said that there is a special respect for what Romania does to support the Republic of Moldova.
‘I want to assure you that (…) there is a special respect and warm thanks for what Romania does to support the Republic of Moldova. There is a difference of vision between president Dodon, who is rather preoccupied by the orientation of the Republic of Moldova towards the eastern area and the governmental majority and the parliamentary majority which support the idea of the European road of the Republic of Moldova, idea where Romania contributes very substantially’ Teodor Melescanu said.
Teodor Melescanu took part on Saturday together with Calin Popescu Tariceanu and Norica Nicolai at the Casa de Cultura a Sindicatelor of Ploiesti, at the conference for elections of the territorial branch of the Party of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats - ALDE Prahova.
