The 6th edition of Vintest Bucharest Wine Salon, 28 - 30 October in Bucharest
The Vintest Bucharest Wine Salon brings together this year 17 Romanian producers with more than 220 wines from renowned domestic cellars, the event's organisers announced on Tuesday.
According to Lucia Pirvu, expert taster and organiser of the event's, the 6th edition is due 28 - 30 October at the Marble Hall within the Press House in Bucharest.
The fair's schedule includes three tasting pre-events, carried with support from the wine producers and backed by the organisers alongside professors with the USAMVB (Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine University), designed for undergraduate students, master's students and senior students of this educational institution.
In his turn, the dean of the Agrifood Economics and Environment Faculty with the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies (ASE), Dan Boboc said during a presentation conference of the event that in Romania, wine consumption has a tradition that has to be continued. In this respect, he mentioned that in Romania there is a law that makes it mandatory for the supermarkets to sell 50pct Romanian products and yet for wines it wasn't the case since 90pct of wine sales are made in Romania.
"This is demonstrating that we have a tradition, that we are wine consumers. Wine consumption has been constant in Romania, at 22 - 24 litres per capita, unlike other countries such as France, where wine consumption is diminishing," said Boboc.
The organisers also announce that by buying a ticket the visitors will be able to participate in one of the special tasting in the Domestic Wines Library. The tasting will be unfolded for the duration of the fair in a dedicated area.
