The European currency dearer than the dollar: The leu appreciated against the main foreign currencies

The European currency has become dearer than the dollar by comparison to the leu, which has gained ground in front of the major currencies.

Thus, the national currency appreciated by comparison to euro, which was calculated by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) at 4.8793 lei, dropping  by 2.45 bani (0.50%) as compared to the previous quotation of 4.9038 lei.

The leu appreciated significantly against the American dollar, which was quoted to 4.8676 lei, dropping by 10.08 bani by comparison to the value on Tuesday, when it was 4.9684 lei.

The national currency appreciated by comparison to the Swiss Franc, calculated by BNR at 4.9194 lei, dripping  by 3.57 bani (-0.72%) against 4.9551 lei, the previous quotation.

On the other hand, the gold gram got cheaper, on Wednesday up to 261.3694 lei, from 262.0480 lei, in the previous meeting.
