The housing fund has increased by 0.7% in 2019, at 9,093 million units
The housing fund kept its growing trend over the last years, with 9,093 million units at the end of the year 2019, up by 61,600 units 0.7% respectively, against the end of 2018, shows the Na?ional Institute for Statistics (INS) in a publication.
According to INS the increase of ‘ new entries’ in the housing fund is due both to new constructions, 67,500 units and transformations of spaces with other destination in residences ( 1000 units). At the same time, there were also ‘ units going out’ – 6,900 units, as a result of pulling down houses (5800 units) as well as the change of some spaces with another use (1,100 units). The INS data show that in 2019, there were on average 2.7 rooms/residence.
The size of the residences, expressed by the average net area for each residence, has increased în every development region. The biggest average net area for a residence was in the West region (51.2 sq.m) and Bucuresti – Ilfov (50.2 sqm) and the smallest in South-West Oltenia (44.9 sqm.).
