The law that bans the export of logs to the extra-community area for ten years promulgated

President Klaus Iohannis promulgated on Friday the law which bans, starting with 1st January 2021, for a period of 10 years the export of logs to the extra-community area. ‘The export of logs with or without bark, or round wood for a period of 10 years, to the extra-community area starting with 1st January 2021 (…) Non-compliance with the interdiction for export of the wooded mass is sanctioned with imprisonment from one year to three years or fine worth 100,000 lei’ says the law regarding the sustainable management of the forests of Romania initiated by several PSD deputies ( social-democrat party – opposition).

The normative document regulates the establishment of the National Registrar for the digitized record of the forestry property at the level of the central public authorities which are responsible for forestry, with a view to implementing the forestry regime and the sustainable management of the foresty fund.

‘ The creation of the cadaster belonging to the forestry fund public ownership of the state is financed by the state budget or out of own sources of the managers of the forestry fund, state public qwnership. In order to insure the transparency of collection of the wooded mass from the na?ional forestry fund there is created the National register of wooded mass at the level of the central public authority which is liable for forestry by the use of the data bases existing at their level.

The central public authority which is liable for forestry will publish the National register of wooded mass on its own site whose model is approved through order of the leader of the central public authority which is liable for forestry. The territorial specialized structures of the central public authorities which are liable for forestry will check randomly the documents for putting to value on the basis of risk criteria’ the law says.
