US Ambassador: Three Seas Initiative - a strategic investment

The United States considers the Three Seas Initiative "a strategic investment" in the economic and regional security fields, US Ambassador to Bucharest Kathleen Kavalec said on Monday.

She was speaking at the opening of the Ministerial Meeting of the Three Seas Initiative at the Palace of Parliament.

"The US is a partner and supporter of the Three Seas Initiative. We believe it is a strategic investment in both the future of Europe and the transatlantic relationship. We are convinced that this Initiative will bridge the gap between the East and the West of the EU, especially in the areas of energy, transport and digital infrastructure. These are not only vital sectors for economic development, but also for security and stability," said Kavalec.
