USTDA awards grant for security upgrades at Otopeni Airport
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has awarded a grant to National Company Bucharest Airports S.A. (CNAB) for a feasibility study that will bolster airport security at the country's largest airport, Bucharest Henri Coanda (Otopeni).According to an USTDA press statement, the project will deploy information and telecommunication solutions to help CNAB monitor and manage its operations more efficiently.
The grant was signed last week at the USTDA headquarters in Arlington, U.S., by USTDA Deputy Director Enoh Ebong and CNAB Director General Sorinel Ciobanu.
"These upgrades will lead to a world class IT and security system at Bucharest Henri Coanda (Otopeni) Airport, creating a more safe and efficient system for travelers passing through the airport," said USTDA Deputy Director Enoh T. Ebong.
The feasibility study will evaluate the existing technology systems and prepare CNAB to integrate IT systems, databases, hardware, software and personnel into one centralized and coherent system, which will be able to analyze and communicate data in real time.
"This study will enable our organization to attain its goals in security optimization, upgrades and streamlined operations," said CNAB Director General Sorinel Ciobanu.
