Vasile Dancu: PSD must admit they have passed through a crisis. They have lost half of their electorate in three years
Vasile Dancu who ran for the position of chairman of the National Council stated on Saturday that the PSD has passed thorugh a crisis and has lost half of the electorate they had in three years, and this Congress is ‘ the congress of the last chance’. ‘PSD must admit they have passed through a crisis. They have lost half of the electorate they had in three years. This congress is the congress of the last chance. I hope today we will make it, together with our colleagues, to give the party a new chance, A new direction. We are trying to reset what what was unadequate to the reality in Romania until now and make a project which could last much longer, at least four years, although there will be a congress after elections ‘ Vasile Dancu said.
He said that controversy in the party is a good thing, even if it is not good for the image, but the purpose of the PSD is to be united. ‘ I thank those who contested me, if they didn’t do it, my coming to the party would have had no reason. We have to admit the differences and I must admit the differences of those who oppose me, but our purpose is to be united. I hope the colleagues in the south will understand better the political culture of the people in Transylvania. I understand very well what is happening in the organizations in the south where there is more political performance, meaning more votes. I think that together we will be able to do better things in the future. Controversy is always helpful in a party, although the image is ruined’ Dancu explained.
Asked about the reproaches of some as he has been close to some secret services in Romania, Vasile Dancu answered;” This is stupid, it is connected to my friendship during my childhood with a certain former leader of the secret services. There is no connection to my political activity, nor my activity in the public space. It can be verified. Everything is transparent and I want you to check, if you want’.
