Number of slaughtered sheep and goats soar by over 100 pc in February

The overall number of sheep and goats slaughtered in February as against January, reported the biggest rise of 105.6 percent compared to other categories of animals and poultry, according to a release issued by the National Statistics Institute (INS). The overall number of slaughtered pigs was of 202,000 heads, dropping by 27.1 percent, whereas as regards the carcase weight the diminution is of 30 percent, standing at 15,923 tonnes.
