We import wheat because of massive exports

Romania is now importing wheat because of companies which in the fall of 2006 exported big quantities of cereals, said the president of Rompan, Aurel Popescu. “Certain companies had excess stocks and in November 2006 exported 280,000 tons of wheat and now we have to import,” Popescu said.
