Tourism: In 2019, Govora will host European summit about balneary tourism

About 20 ministers from EU member states  and other European officials will participate in a summit about balneary tourism in Baile Govora, in the summer of 2019. The summit will be organized by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Tourism, said Govora mayor, Mihai Mateescu.

“Govora will host the summit ‘Balneary tourism - EU strategy for cross national development” most likely over May 28-31, 2019. Representatives of ministries from EU member states and people from the national and continental balneary tourist industry are expected to participate,” Mateescu added.

Baile Govora was attested by the Ministry of Tourism as a tourist resort of national interest, and is one of the first five resorts for balneary treatment. It is located in north-eastern Oltenia, at about 20 km far from Ramnicu Valcea, Govora Monastery, Dintr-un Lemn Monastery and the central park of the resort, built by French landscape artist Emile Pinard in early 20th century being the main tourist attractions in the area.
