Hidroelectrica and Elektropriveda Srbije want to solve the amiably the conflict regarding the power unit in Portile de Fier
The leadership of Hidroelectrica and that of the company Elektropriveda Srbije which manage together the unit Portile de Fier on the Danube want to solve amiably the conflict connected to the exploitation of the hydro power station not to get to the tribunal, according to a press release of the Hidroelectrica.
‘A delegation of the Hidroelectrica led by Bogdan Badea the chairman of the Board went to the hydropower station Portile de Fier I to meet the delegation of Elektropriveda Srbije ( the company which has Djerdap I, the Serbian party of the Portile de Fier hydropower station) led by Milorad Grcici, the general manager of the Serbian company. The working meeting is part of the joint effort of the two parties Romania and Serbia to solve the conflict regarding the obligation to make repairs and replacement of equipment in counterparty with electricity delivery. The agenda includes technical issues regarding the current activity and joint projects of the twoelectricity companies which manage the Portile de Fier unit’ the press release says.
The Hidroelectrica officials say that the discussions took place as a result of the meeting of 19 August 2017 between the Romanian minister of energy Toma Petcu and Aleksander Antici, his Serbian counterpart, occasion when the necessity to identify solutions for the rehabilitation of the collaboration conditions as well as the direction of the negotiations.
‘Among the main issues for debate were the joint preparation for the winter of 2017 – 2018 as well as the necessity to make repairs in partnership to the energy disperser, equipment whose function is to lower the rhythm of dam basis wearing out.On this occasion the Romanian-Serbian team was established to identify the best solutions and the deadlines for the achievement of the tasks in the project’ the press release says.
As regards the matter referring to the agreement between Romania and Serbia for electricity and repairs at the unit Portile de Fier I –Djerdap, the representatives of the companies agreed about the necessity of a new meeting. This will take place in a month, after collection of data and documents which will allow a constructive approach. Both partners appreciated that the discussions go in the right direction and there are the premises of the rapid solution of the conflict, the Hidroelectrica officials say.
