In March the state collected over 17.9 million euro from certificates of greenhouse gases emissions certificates

The state collected over 17.9 million euro, in March as a result of the trading on bidding platforms of the EU of the certificates for green house effect gases which belong to the stationary installations and the aviation sector, shows the document published on the site of the ministry of public finances (MFP).

Thus, in March were traded over 3.6 million certificates for the stationary installations worth almost 17.8 million euro. As regards the certificates for the aviation sector were traded 14,000 of units worth 69,160 euro as total value.

In January, the finances collected over 16.5 million euro of such certificates, and starting February almost 18.7 million euro.

According to the MFP data, the trading of the certificates for greenhouse gas emissions in the European Union (EU Emission Trading Scheme – EUETS) applied first for the period 01.01.2005 – 31.12.2007 and the second phase is underway in the period – 2008 -2012 corresponding to the first period of commitment of the Kyoto Protocol. Romania takes part in the European Union scheme for the trading of the green house gases since its accession to the EU (1 January 2007).

The third stage of the EUETS scheme has a duration of 8 years, between 1 January 2013 – 31 December 2020.
