Nuclearelectrica closes 2022 with over 2.7 billion RON in net profit
Nuclearelectrica recorded in 2022 a net profit of 2.73 billion RON, up by 163.4 pct compared to the same period of the previous year, according to preliminary data sent on Friday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Total revenues amounted in the period mentioned to RON 6.366 billion (RON 3.11 billion in 2021) and EBITDA (profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and depreciation) to RON 3.547 billion (plus 103.6 pct).
The energy production delivered in the National Energy System totaled 10,200 GWh (minus 1.7 pct compared to 2021). On the free market, Nuclearelectrica delivered 99.61 pct of the energy sold last year. The average selling price of the electricity sold was 600.15 RON/MWh (284.29 RON/MWh in 2021).
On December 31, 2022, the company had total debts of 1.3 billion RON. The company owed tax on the additional income, respectively the contribution to the Energy Transition Fund, in the amount of 1.08 billion RON. According to OUG no. 119/01.09.2022, starting from September 1, 2022, for the period September 1, 2022 - August 31, 2023, electricity producers pay a contribution to the Energy Transition Fund.
Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica is administered in a unitary system, having a central headquarters and two branches without legal personality, namely Centrala Nuclearo - Electrica Cernavoda and Fabrica de Combustibil Nuclear Pitesti.
The main activity of the company consists in the production of electrical and thermal energy through nuclear processes. The two operational nuclear reactors at Cernavoda are based on CANDU technology.
The main shareholder of Nuclearelectrica is the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy, with 82.4981 pct of the shares. The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since November 2013.
