Aircraft of the Romanian Air Forces will transport Romanian firefighters to Corsica
Two aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Forces will transport 20 Romanian firefighters and three special vehicles on the Corsica island, France in a mission of extinguishing woods fires, announces on Monday the ministry of national defence (MApN).
According to the quoted source, minister of defence, Angel Tivar approved the mission of air transport for two aircraft (C 130 Hercules and C 27 J Spartan) belonging to the Romanian Air Forces, to take off on Tuesday, 15th August around 8:00 with destination Bastia Poretta, Corsica, France.
The specialists of IGSU activate in France as a response to the demand for help sent to the French authorities through the information portal dedicated CECIS ( Common Emergency Communication and Information System) of the Mechanism for Civil Protection of the EU as a result of the situation created by the extension of the woods fires over the last days.
