As many as 56 Romanian companies to participate in Cologne international food fair
Romania will be setting up a national stand at the most important convention of the year of the European and world food industry, organised once every two years, the Anuga International Fair - Taste the Future, according to a press statement released by Romania's Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship.
This year, the fair is taking place this October 7-11 in Cologne, Germany.
The participation of the Romanian companies in this exhibition is organised by the Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with Romalimenta employers' association and the Romanian Food Promotion Association (APAR), under the Export Promotion Programme financed from the national budget.
"Preparations for building the pavilion and transporting food to Cologne are in full swing so that we can offer Romanian exhibitors a platform for meetings and discussions to enable them to sign valuable contracts for developing and strengthening their position on the national and international markets," foreign trade co-ordinator Sterica Fudulea is quoted as saying in the statement.
This year's edition of the fair carries the motto "Taste the Future." It will cover 284,000 square metres, distributed over 10 specialist halls.
Romania will have national stands in the Meat, Bread & Bakery, Organic, and Fine Food sections, and in the Anuga-Drinks section, Romanian companies will have individual stands, funded exclusively by the companies deemed independent exhibitors.
The area dedicated to the Romanian stands covers 1,000 square metres. The 56 specialist companies participating in the Export Promotion Programme have prepared for the fair a wide variety of agri-food products: meat products and preparations, bakery products, dairy products, sweets, canned vegetables/fruit, dehydrated fruit, frozen fruit, organic bee products (royal jelly, honey), drinks (natural juices, beer), spices and ingredients for the food industry.
The previous edition of the fair, which took place in 2015, attracted over 155,000 visitors from more than 200 countries, with total exhibitors reaching 6,777. The Anuga trade fair opened its gates for the first time more than 60 years ago, becoming, in time, the most important European fair, the reference point for the food industry around the world; at the same time, the event sets the food trends in the world.
