Calendar of actions during electoral period for June 9 elections, approved by gov't
The government approved, in Monday's meeting, the calendar of actions during the electoral period for the European Parliament and local elections scheduled for 9 June 2024.
According to the calendar, the electoral period begins on 12 March.
*** within five days, at the latest on 16 March, the judges of the Central Electoral Bureau will be appointed and the model of the permanent electoral list, the model of the special electoral list, the copy of the special electoral list, the supplementary electoral list, the extract of the supplementary electoral list, the model of the list of supporters, the model of the ballot for the election of Romanian members in the European Parliament, will be established
*** on 19 March, the period for submitting to the central electoral office the protocols for establishing electoral alliances in the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, begins
*** within 10 days from the beginning of the electoral period, but no later than 21 March, the models of electoral stamps and the model of the sticker stamp, will be established
*** within 10 days from the date of the establishment of the Central Electoral Bureau, but at the latest on 27 March, the period for submitting to the central electoral office the protocols for the establishment of electoral alliances in the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, will end
*** at least 24 hours before the drawing of lots of the three judges in the electoral office for voting stations abroad, at the latest on 9 April, the date on which this drawing of lots will take place, will be made public
*** no later than 10 April, applications for registration in the special electoral lists for the election of members from Romania to the European Parliament, will be submitted. It is about the citizens with the right to vote of the member states of the European Union, other than Romania, who have their domicile or residence in Romania
*** no later than 10 April, midnight, the candidacies for the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament will be submitted and registered, and within 24 hours from the registration of the candidacy they will be forwarded to the National Council for the study of the Securitate Archives, the declarations on the candidates' own responsibility regarding the fact that they had or did not have the status of Securitate workers or its collaborators
*** on 11 April, the lists of candidates and independent candidacies for the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, will be made public
*** on 29 April, the candidacies for the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, remain definitive
*** on 30 April, the serial number on the ballots of political parties, citizen organizations belonging to national minorities, political alliances and electoral alliances that have submitted lists of candidates, as well as independent candidates, will be determined
*** until 1 May, the declarations of wealth and interests of the candidates for the elections for members from Romania in the European Parliament, will be made public

*** from 16 April, the period for registering electoral alliances for the elections for local public administration authorities in 2024 and submitting candidacies for these elections, begins
*** by 15 April at the latest, the presidents of the constituency electoral offices and their deputies, will be appointed
*** in a maximum of 10 days from the date of establishment of the constituency electoral offices, at the latest on 25 April, the period of registration of electoral alliances in the elections for local public administration authorities, will end
*** citizens with the right to vote who have established their residence for more than six months before the election date in the electoral district where elections are held will submit to the mayor, at the latest 45 days before the election date, i.e. until 25 April, requests for registration in the Electoral Register with the address of residence
*** on 15 April, the registration period for electoral alliances for the elections for local public administration authorities in 2024, ends
*** no later than 40 days before the date of the elections, i.e. 30 April, it will be requested to grant air time to the managements of public and private radio and television stations or, as the case may be, their territorial studios, for the elections for the administration authorities local public
*** 30 April is also the deadline for submitting candidacies for the local elections
*** on 8 May, candidacies for the elections for local public administration authorities in 2024, remain final

*** on 10 May, the electoral campaign Kicks off, which will end on 8 June, at 7:00 a.m.
*** on 9 June, at 7:00 a.m., the voting process will begin, for both ballots, and will end on the same day, at 10:00 p.m.
Voters who are at the polling station headquarters at 10:00 p.m., as well as those queuing outside the polling station headquarters to enter the polling station, can vote until 11:59 p.m. at the latest.
After counting the votes and resolving any complaints or appeals, the results of the elections for local public administration authorities and for members from Romania in the European Parliament, for the year 2024, will be validated and published in the Official Gazette of Romania.
