Romania participates in the London Book Fair (March 12-14, 2024)
Romania is participating in this year's edition of the London Book Fair, between March 12-14. Under the motto "Vocile libertatii/Voices of Freedom," Romania's participation in the London Book Fair - one of the largest events dedicated to professionals in the literary field - is dedicated to all generations of local writers who have lived and written in a free world, informs the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR).
The Romanian Cultural Institute offers writers, translators, publishers and literary agents from Romania a stand in the central area of the fair, where approximately 350 volumes of Romanian fiction will be exhibited, albums dedicated to contemporary artists and Romanian cultural heritage, as well as translations into English of books written by Romanian authors, supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute through the TPS and Publishing Romania funding programmes. The selection of titles will be accompanied by informative materials about the Romanian book market (catalogues, flyers, brochures).
The Romanian Cultural Institute has prepared a programme of events that includes book launches, conferences and "spoken word" performances, which will take place at the ICR stand at the fair, at the ICR London headquarters, the Barbican library and at Conway Hall.
The Romanian participation in the London Book Fair is organized by the National Book Centre and the Romanian Cultural Institute in London, with the support of the Romanian Embassy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Ministry of Culture, the Association of Romanian Publishers, Conway Hall and the Barbican Centre.
Romania is present for the 14th time at the event, until 2019 having 12 consecutive participations, according to https://www.cennac.ro/.
