French investors in Romania predict a limited impact of crisis on turnover

The member companies of the French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania perceive a limited impact of the crisis on turnover, but consider that this impact will be prolonged long after the crisis ends, according to a CCIFER survey.

"The impact of the crisis on turnover is perceived by CCIFER member companies as quite limited, to the extent that most companies do not consider that they will be impacted by a loss of turnover of ore than 30 percent. However, companies are of the opinion that this impact will not stop after the crisis is over and it will take much longer than that," reads a press release issued by the organization sent on Monday.

According to the quoted source, the first concern expressed by the managers who responded to the survey refers to limiting the impact of this crisis on the human resource, both from a sanitary point of view, as well as from that of the measures related to the protection of incomes and even jobs. Very few respondents talked about redundancies or about stopping the activity altogether. Most focused on measures aimed at flexibility, and some of them even came up with new lines of business and business reconversion so they can secure jobs during the crisis, the release said.

The French Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Romania conducted a survey among the member companies on the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis between March 27 and April 3, 19. In the survey, CCIFER consulted over 1,000 people from the 600 member companies. As many as 540 people answered the questions. The respondents come from companies with different profiles in terms of size and sector of activity. Thus, 33 percent of the respondents are from the services sector, 13 percent from the industry, 8 percent from the trade and distribution sector, 8 percent from IT and telecom, 7 percent from construction, 7 percent from agriculture, 3 percent from tourism, 5 percent from other sectors.

52 percent of the respondents represent SMEs or subsidiaries of large groups, 22 percent represent large groups, 19 percent TPE / startups / entrepreneurs, and 7 percent NGOs and school institutions.

CCIFER brings together over 550 French and Romanian companies representing 18 billion euros and over 125,000 jobs.
