President Iohannis - expected to issue decree extending emergency status by another month

President Klaus Iohannis could issue the decree extending the state of emergency by another 30 days on Tuesday. On April 6, the head of state announced that "the state of emergency will be extended". He emphasized that "this period is absolutely necessary to keep the evolution of the epidemic under control."

After the decree is issued, it should be approved by the Parliament's plenary.

The first decree establishing the state of emergency for 30 days was issued on March 16th. He was put to the vote of Parliament on March 19.
