Survey: a quarter of the Romanian employees lost their workplace or were sent on technical unemployment

One out of ten employees who took part in a survey made on the recruitment platform BestJobs say they lost their workplace and approximately 15% were sent on technical unemployment, while 16% have a lower salary, nd over 90% of the employees appreciate that it is hard or very hard to find a new workplace.

Only 32% of the employees say their professional situation has remained the same and in the present context with high risks for the economy due to the Covid-19 epidemics, over 90% of the employees say it is hard or even very hard to find a new workplace’ the survey says.

A third of the employees are worried as regards the perspectives and irrespective of the present situation, they worry that they might lose their workplace during the period to come, the BestJobs survey shows and approximately 35% expect to find a new workplace with much difficulty if they get into this situation.

The perspective of a lower salary worries another 28% of the employees, and almost 17% worry they might be forced to change their profession over the next period. Only approximately 15% of the interviewees are convinced that their professional situation will be unchanged this year.

From those who kept their workplace even if not under the same conditions as before the crisis, more than a quarter work at home and’ the same number say they work at least similarly or even more than before. However, in the case of 14% of those interviewed, the company activity was reduced visibly and they work less during this period.

‘The loss of the workplace means financial pressure on the family budget. In the context where more than 36% of the employees who answered the survey from BestJobs admitted that they have no savings, and 42% say that they have money for at most three or four months’ the survey says.

Only 8% of the interviewees stated that if they lose their workplace due to the epidemics they have accounts to live for at least one year.

More
