Gheban ( Catalyst Solutions): The companies will cover inflation, I am sure, but in a period of one or two years
Companies will grant wage increases to cover inflation, but it will take them a year or two years, and this will not continue to grow, said Dragos Gheban, managing partner at Catalyst solutions. Present at the conference "Romanian Labour market in 2023: Current situation and forecasts from the largest companies", which takes place at the event "Top employers Bucharest".
As regards the level of salaries on the market, he said that it is a complicated question. Dragos Gheban considers that the level of internship is situated at about 2,000 lei for jobs in the domain of non-technical and they can go up to 3,000 – 4,000 lei in the IT area.
The entry-level candidate is situated around 2,700 lei and 3,500 lei. But in this case as well the IT industry is different from the point of view of benefits and it can surpass 1000 euro, especially if through the internship programmes or other activities or jobs during studies the candidates got to master a technology sufficiently well to be autonomous.
For professionals the interval is even higher. In case of people with three years’ experience the salaries could be between 3,500 and 4,500 lei, but in some domains they can be even higher or if the respective candidate has rare technical competences.
Dragos Gheban stated that for professionals is matter more to be autonomous, namely to master well enough a domain to be able to do his/her job without assistance or support on the part of colleagues with more experience.
