KPMG in Romania appoints six new directors

KPMG in Romania is pleased to announce the appointment of six new Directors with effect from 1 October 2010. All are Romanian nationals and promoted from within the firm. The appointments are new posts and reflect the continued growth in KPMG’s business, its faith in the future of Romania, and the professional achievements of senior staff who have acquired the necessary expertise from our High Performance Culture to advance to this very senior level.‪
Maria Elisei, Director: Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals ‪
Maria specialises in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and has also taken part in many engagements in a wide variety of industries. Her experience with Capital Markets transactions includes taking a Romanian business to the London Stock Exchange. She is known to her clients and colleagues as someone who gives direct answers in a very practical way, making the most complex issue seem straightforward.
Tudor Grecu, Director: Financial Services ‪
Tudor has nine years experience with KPMG in Romania. He is a specialist in Financial Services and the Insurance sector. His experience derives from being part of KPMG's banking audit group as it has grown and developed over the last decade to its current premier position in the financial services consultancy market. He specialises in regulatory matters in his sector such as Basel II and capital requirements for banks. These are complex areas, and our clients benefit from Tudor’s knowledge, experience, and ability to quickly cut through to the heart of a problem, and solve it.
Angela Manolache, Director: Accounting Advice and IFRS Solutions ‪
‪Angela joined KPMG nine years ago and during this period she has built her expertise in a broad range of areas of Accounting - Romanian and International, both industry specific (e.g. financial services, telecom, oil industry) and general purpose (e.g. consolidations, conversions). One of the most important issues for her clients is IFRS implementation and Angela has significant experience in this field, relating both to banks and to other types of companies. She advises not only on the technical accounting changes, but also on the IT, business and people processes that need to change to comply with IFRS. Angela is a specialist in financial instruments, including derivatives and hedging, and she also coordinates financial risk management engagements.
Simona Stavrositu, Director: Telecoms Sector ‪
Simona has worked with KPMG for 11 years and has wide experience in managing audits of large Romanian companies and international groups operating in Romania, reporting under IFRS, US GAAP, and SOX 404. She has coordinated audit engagements for the oil industry, electronics manufacturing, IT software, food and beverages, as well as the Telecoms sector which is currently her main focus. A balanced and focused person, Simona is well placed to advise clients in these uncertain times when having a clear vision can be the key to surviving and prospering.
Bogdan Vaduva, Director: Energy and Utilities ‪
Bogdan specialises in the energy sector, and has developed his experience in this field over the last six years. He has gained broad experience in audits involving Romanian and multinational clients, as he started his involvement as their auditor and extended this to become a full spectrum adviser leading multi-disciplinary teams in high profile projects with some of Romania’s largest energy providers. He has also been actively involved in major transactions and restructuring projects in the Romanian electricity sector. Bogdan is solution oriented and will always go the extra mile to satisfy a client.
‪Bogdan Vlad, Director:‪ Business Expansion Specialist
Bogdan can assist businesses which are interested in extending their activities or in restructuring. His broad ranging experience dealing with clients of many sizes and from a wide range of industries means he has considerable knowledge of the needs of companies in transition. He can coordinate the advice required from our accounting, legal, tax, restructuring, valuation, corporate finance, and process consultants so that our clients can contact a single individual. His easy-going nature and willingness to help make him the ideal person for this position. Bogdan also has responsibilities for our office in Chisinau to support our clients in Moldova.
