Negative growth of Romania's population in November 2017

The number of marriages significantly dropped and the number of divorces slightly fell in November 2017 compared to October 2017.

Romania's population recorded a negative growth in November 2017, given that the number of deaths was higher by 6,396 than the one of births, according to a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) .
In November 2017, a number of 15,319 children were born, by 2,680 less than in October 2017. The number of persons whose deaths were recorded in November 2017 stood at 21,715, by 258 less than in October 2017.
The number of deaths among infants aged less than one year was 93, declining by 2 in November 2017 from October 2017.
Furthermore, in November 2017, a number of 7,612 marriages were recorded, by 5,531 less than in October 2017.
The number of divorces formally pronounced under final court rulings and in accordance with the Law No.202/2010 stood at 2,447, declining by 293 compared to October 2017.
