Romania will participate in the biggest and most important book fair in North America, BookExpo America
For the third year in a row, Romania will participate in the biggest and most important book fair in North America, BookExpo America (BEA), to be open May 11-13 in Chicago, Illinois, the US.
According to a press statement by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) New York, editors, authors, agents, publishers from all over the world participate to this event, featuring their latest products, in print or in digital format.
The Romanian exhibit at BEA will feature recently published English translations of Romanian authors, printed at prestigious US publishing houses; catalogues and pamphlets of contemporary Romanian literature and publishing houses will be made available to the public, along with pamphlets and promotion materials on funding programmes conducted by the National Book Centre.
"A number of meetings with the aforementioned entities have been planned, in order to increase the number of English translations of Romanian authors, and also to identify better opportunities to promote Romanian publications in North America," says ICR New York.
The Romanian participation in BookExpo America 2016 is organised by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest, through the National Book Centre and ICR New York.
