Seminar for the presentation of European funds for Romania between 2014 - 2020

Spain’s embassy to Bucharest and the minister of European Funds of Romania organises on 28 May at the Institute Cervantes of Bucharest, a seminar of presentation of the operational programmes with European financing of Romania for the period of 2014 – 2020.

According to the press release sent by the Spain's embassy, the seminar is organised as a result of the visit made to Bucharest in March of last year, by the State Secretary for commerce of Spain, H.E. Jaime Garcia-Legaz.

According to the Agreement for Partnership, Romania has as its disposal European funds of 30,619 million euro of the European Structural Funds and Investments between 2014 – 2020, funds which allow them to consolidate the public administration, to strengthen competitiveness, human capital and small and medium entreprises, to benefit from the potential of its natural resources in agriculture and to develop the infrastructure network.

The seminar will benefit from the presence of the ministry of European funds, H.E.Marius Nica and the ambassador of Spain to Bucharest, H.E. Ramiro Fernandez Bachiller. During the whole day, experts at high level of the ministry of European Funds, the ministry of regional development and public administration, the ministry of agriculture and rural development, will present sectorial operational programmes through which Romania will manage European funds between 2014 – 2020.

There have been registered almost 50 Spanish companies as well as Romanian companies with Spanish capital, created by Spanish citizens, Romanian companies and international ones.

Spain was in a similar situation to the one we have in Romania during the second part of the 80’s – the first part of the 90’s.Spain profited from the opportunity offered by the EU to finance the convergence with the rest of Europe through structural and cohesion funds which allowed it to build one of the most advanced infrastructure networks in the world..

Since Romania’s accession, the Spanish companies have presented to Romania their experience accumulated in 20 years in the development of ambitious European projects. The Romanian authorities showed their trust in the Spanish companies. According to the information of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy to Bucharest, starting with 2000 and until now there have been over 2,700 euro allocated to Spanish companies in public contracts, the majority being after Romania’s accession to the European Union and with European financing.

Spain is at the same time, home for almost one million Romanians.The Romanian community is the largest foreign community in Spain, representing more than the double of the foreign communities in other places. This Romanian collectivity had an important contribution to the economic growth experimented by Spain in most of the 21st century we are covering.
