The second Romania-Denmark economic forum to start in Copenhagen on June 18

The state secretary for European Affairs, George Ciamba has had on Wednesday in Bucharest consultations with his Danish counterpart, Kim Jorgensen, the two officials saying that the second Romania-Denmark economic forum to start in Copenhagen on June 18 is a new opportunity for the development of the commercial exchanges and for the identification of new possibilities of cooperation. 

According to a release by the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE), the two officials have hailed the very good level of the bilateral relations, constantly strengthened through a political dialogue on European and international common interest topics. 

Also, Ciamba and Jorgensen have said that the very good level of the political relationships should 'double', both from the political dialogue's viewpoint at the high level and from the economic point of view, according to the two countries' potential, as regards the renewable energy, the energy safety and the environment protection, included, as well as the agricultural field. 

Referring to the European agenda, the two officials have had a swap of opinions regarding the evolutions in the Eastern Neighbourhood and the Western Balkans, as well as upon migration. In the context, they have approached the challenges on European plan of the institutional implications of the political context in United Kingdom and the financial situation of Greece. 

Likewise, state secretary George Ciamba evoked the role of the Eastern Partnership as a tool of strategic importance in the consolidation of the EU relations with its Eastern partners and reiterated the fact that Romania is firmly committed in supporting the reform efforts in the Republic of Moldova, including through a much consistent support to implementing the Association Agreement (AA/DCFTA) and the country's advancement in its European membership. 

The two officials have agreed upon the necessity to maintaining the sanctions regime imposed in the context of the Ukraine crisis, given the nearing of the moment when the topic will be brought back on the European agenda. 

As regards the EU extension's perspectives, secretary of state George Ciamba expressed Romania's constant support for the continuation of this process that contributes to the promotion of peace, stability, security and prosperity in Europe. 

The two state secretaries have agreed upon continuing and deepening the bilateral political dialogue and its European coordination.
