The government notified CCR for the law regarding the pensions of the locally elected

The government notified again the Constitutional Court (CCR) regarding the law for the pensions of the locally elected after the parliament adopted it, although it had been considered non-consitutional, announced premier Dacian Ciolos on Monday on the radio.

He said that the text adopted by the MPs does not say clearly how these pensions are financed as they do not follow the principle of contribution.

Ciolos showed that he asked the CCR judges to clarify if the elements mentioned in the law are constitutional.

He said that the special pensions offered to some categories of occupations risk affecting on medium term and long term the sustainability of the pensions system in Romania.

The senate as decision-making forum adopted on Tuesday the law for special pensions for the locally elected which had been considered non-constitutional by the CCR at the notification of the government. The MPs analysed again the la and said that the special pensions will be financed from local budgets.
