The International Auto Fair won't take place in 2011 either
The Bucharest International Auto Fair (SIAB) won't take place in 2011 either, after the edition of 2009 was cancelled due to the lack of funds, Constantin Stroe, member of the Association for Automobile Producers and Importers said. The head of Porsche Romania, importer for Volkswagen said that he decided with the representatives of the German company not to take part in the possible fairs of 2011 due to financial reasons.
" As regards the position of Volkswagen ( Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, SEAT, Skoda and Porsche) I can state that, taking into consideration the general economic conditions for next year as well, as well as the general drop on the market these two last years, we did not include in our calendar participation to auto fairs in Romania for next year. We would rather concentrate our financial resources in the direction of helping our partners in the distribution networks with the process of schooling and training for our personnel and distributors, and the launching of new models at our points of sale, our showrooms" Valmar said. The last SIAB took place in 2007 in October in a location near Otopeni Airport.
