Ciolos: it is unacceptable that the whole country be kept captive in a war with the justice led by some politicians
The former premier Dacian Ciolos says that it is unacceptable that, for nine months the whole country ‘ to have been kept captive in a war with the justice’ led by some politicians.
‘Moreover, they do whatever they want to change a personal matter into a false institutional issue. The price paid is the stability and the credibility of Romania, a price which each of us is paying’ Ciolos said, on Monday on Facebook.
At the same time, in a video recording published on the same social network, the former prime-minister states that ‘ the attack’ on justice does not rely on a conflict between the powers of the state.
‘We have been witnessing since the beginning of the year but, surely, in a different context a direct attack on justice. This attack does not rely on a conflict between the powers of the state as some try to convince us. I think we could say that justice is in conflict with the government or with the parliament when they try to do they job to observe the law. The justice follows its course, procedures against some natural persons who have to assume the responsibility of their deeds, to formulate its defence in the context of the framework established by the law, as any citizen of Romania. And then, let the justice decide if they are guilty or not’ Ciolos says in the video message.
According to him, the two parties in the government must make the distinction between the governing act and the personal matters they have with the justice .
