The execution of the general consolidated budget for the first eight months of the year: deficit of 6.5 billion lei
The execution of the general consolidated budget for the first eight months of the year closed with a deficit of 6.5 billion lei, 0.78% of the GDP against the deficit of 3.1 billion lei 0.41% of the GDP respectively, recorded during the same period of 2016, according to the data posted on the site of the ministry of finances.
The income of the general consolidated budget worth 160.4 billion lei, representing 19.2% of GDP were 8.9% higher, in nominal terms, against the same period of the previous year.
There were increases against the previous year in the collections of social contributions (+16.6%) from the salary tax and income (+10.4) of non-fiscal income (+14.0%) and from capital income (+13.4%).
The collections from taxes and taxes on propriety dropped by 6.4% against the similar period of 2016, the drop being determined, mainly, by the elimination since 1 January 2017 of the tax on special constructions.
The collections from other taxes and taxes on goods and services increased by 66.3% against the same period of last year.
The sums from the European Union in the account of the payments made are worth seven billion lei.
The subsidies are growing with 4.6% against the same period of last year, while the interests are lower by 5.9% against the first eight months of last year.
The expenses with social assistance increased against the previous year with 11.3% being influenced mainly by the increase with 5.25% of the pension point starting with 1 January 2017 getting to 917.5 lei and with 9% starting on 1 July 2017 of the pension point getting to 1000 lei as well as other measures which were approved during 2016 which contributed to the increase of social expenses such as: the increase of the number of beneficiaries of the social aid through the exclusion of the state aid for children from the family income when establishing the social aid (VMG); the increase of the indemnity for adult with visual disability through the increase by 25% of the salary of the starting social assistant with secondary education from the social assistance units from the budget-paid sector, other than those with beds and the increase of the number of people supported in different types of disability; the increase and amendment of the way in which is settled the monthly indemnity for child raising and insertion incentive; service pensions for registrars, air personnel, parliamentary civil servants, account court auditors.
The expenses for investments which include capital expenses such as those for the programmes for development financed from internal and external sources were of 10.5 billion lei, 1.3% of GDP respectively.
